The destination we explored was the Wellington Botanic Gardens. We wanted to portray the beauty and serenity, while also including its mystical night time qualities. We decided the best way to show this was through a day to night to day time lapse. We chose the gaziebo beside the lake as this is an iconic feature of Wellington Botanic Gardens. To further identify this specific area, we included the notion of the light festival which the botanic gardens is renowned for. We approached the animation from a fantastical point of view by transforming the lights into fairies, which enhanced the mystical qualities that created our story. The line weight is loose and the animation of the scenery is subtle, to create a more relaxed and calm feeling. The colours blend from vivid to dark rich colours to fit the feeling of the night setting. We used native New Zealand bush sounds to further communicate that this is a New Zealand landscape.
